| While it may prove to be an uncomfortable transition in letting go of things that are more self-serving than spirit-filled, rest-assure the Comforter of Christ, our great and mighty warrior for righteousness, is with us to guide us into the truth of all things. In spite of what your mind may be conjuring up to stop you from living as an over comer, you can have victory over contrasting mentalities especially when one is in direct conflict with God's ultimate and highest purpose for your life. I have noticed in life that most of us tend to have two conversations: The one we have in front of others and the one we have behind closed doors, often times with ourselves. But what are we losing by living a "jeckle and hyde" masquerade? Who did we deceive by nodding our heads "yes" when we knew it was inappropriate, unkind or uncooth? Today I challenge everyone to search deep to find and discover their true self. After all, you are no replica but a rather expensive, not easily duplicated, individual with unique thoughts, ideas and insights! Don't give that away to people who may never recognize your worth. In this society we place our own price tags upon the fabric of our existence and people will always try to defraud it by asking you to come down from your original worth. Make them pay the full price by allowing them to get to know who you really are. It takes a lot of looking in the mirror and observing your actions as well as reactions. It can be achieved in quiet time but the world has become so noisy today that quiet time has become obsolete. We are taught to stay around people every waking hour because more is supposed to be greater. When you find out who you are in Christ, you're better able to impact the world and make a change for the better. Your internal compass has been set to navigate your thoughts and ideas. If you get back to who you really are in Jesus Christ, then your compass can work appropriately for any situation. When you come away from who you really are, that compass is manipulated by the thoughts, ideas and insights of other impressions. The compass settings and standards received after you have been born-again, were designed to help you get to and through the hype. Lastly, most compasses today have been altered by feelings and this will always cause the guide to malfunction. Your compass works within the realm of truth, not feelings. We do things because they feel good but many times they're not right. Be the best you and THE REST will follow... Are you struggling with trying to fit in or wishing desperately to be apart of the "in" crowd even at the expense of edging God "out"? In order to overcome this subtle fear of rejection, it's important for us to find out who we are so that we know how to establish boundaries and not allow people, circumstances or ideas to sway us from standing firm to our righteous passions. You can't get to this place in life if you are afraid of being alone, mistreated or unpopular. Most of us follow crowds, laugh, smile and agree with things we internally find conflicting. We do this, in part, because taking a stand for what is right, according to God, may have consequences that we don't want to face. These consequences can be in the form of losing friendships, employment, business proposals, and even the closeness of relationships that we once had with family. |
